About the charities we will be supporting this year:

THE AMERICAN LEGION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
Since the inception of The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, immediately following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, ALLS offers its support to the children of fallen post-9/11 service members through this annual scholarship. It remains our civic duty and a point of pride to ensure these children are able to receive the best education possible after losing a parent in defense of this country.

HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS
Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post – 9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
TENTATIVE Event - Copied from last year  Jun 23  (Saturday)  Ride for Special Olympics Massachusetts

Kickstands up/Ride Leaves: 11:00am

A little more about the event: in its first three years it raised a total of over $15,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts, with two-thirds of that total raised in 2016 alone. The event has grown exponentially in more than just revenue; in its first year, the ride saw just 60 participants (riders and passengers combined), and in 2016 we more than tripled that number – over 200 participants with 150 motorcycles. In 2017, we hope to double the number of motorcycles from 2016, and believe that advertisement in Boston Biker will be instrumental to us reaching that goal.
