This is a fundraiser for the above scholarship. At the very young age of 4, Travis
Albert began having seizures, it took several years for the Doctors to provide us
with the heart wrenching diagnosis of \"Batten Disease\", a rare neurodegenerative
disease. Travis lost his battle with this disease when he was only 13 years old.
Almost 10 years of Travis\' life were spent fighting this debilitating disease but,
not without the continued love and support from family and friends. herein lies the
reason for a Scholarship Trust to carry on his memory and to give back some of what
was given to Travis so generously.

We will present the first scholarship in the year 2011. This is the year Travis
would have graduated from high school and it is our dream to continue this tradition
every year thereafter with a self sustaining fund. Travis taught us all that the
\"Quality of Life\" is wha! t is mos t important and to always \"Hope and Believe\". And
so, as we always kept to our words when Travis was with us, we will always keep to
our words now \"Travis goes we go, Always\" Brian and Lisa Albert

Confirmed Date  Aug 15  (Sunday)   The First Annual Ink Jam Tattoo Studio Bike Run
InkJam_Run.jpg (95216 bytes)  Ink Jam Tattoo Studio is hosting a fundraising motorcycle run and cookout to benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund to be held on August 15th at the Maynard Rod & Gun Club featuring music provided by the Super 8\'s, raffles as well as hot dogs and hamburgers. The cookout will be held from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. A $15.00 donation is requested for the cookout and the public is welcome.

The motorcycles will meet between 9:30-10:00 am on Sunday, August 15 at Bruce Rossmeyer\'s Boston Harley Davidson 1760 Revere Beach Pkwy Everett MA 02149, and depart at approximately 11:30 am towards the cookout in Maynard.
***All who would like to attend who are not motorcyclists are welcome to join the cookout after the bike run in Maynard !!

Many of us have or had loved ones who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past few years. Amanda Ortiz who is an employee at Ink Jam Tattoo Studio has a sister Cpl. Ortiz who is a U.S. Marine and is currently deployed in Afghanistan. Cpl. Ortiz is safe and sound at this time but unfortunately many of our Marines and Sailors are not coming back safe and sound and it is good to know that we have organizations like the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund who are there for our men and women in their time of need. We fully support this great organization and are reaching out to friends, family and all citizens to assist us in this effort. We are looking for donations for this event whether it is monetary, merchandise or gift certificates to be used in our basket raffles. Any help that you can give to this fundraiser would be greatly appreciated. This benefit has been approved by the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and 100% of the proceeds will be sent directly to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund was established in May 2004. A nurse at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, whose husband was deployed to Iraq, saw firsthand the needs of those returning from battle. S! he broug ht together a group of Marine Corps spouses with diverse backgrounds to implement a plan to provide financial grants to Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraq Freedom injured Marines, Sailors, and service members, injured while assigned to Marine forces and their families during their difficult road to recovery. A Governing Board of retired Generals and Officers, Senior Enlisted Marines, and others with professional backgrounds was added to help the Fund develop into a nationwide program. The Fund works closely with the Marine Corps, the Navy, and military hospitals nationwide to identify and assess the needs of OEF/OIF specific families. And, we need your help to keep this noble mission moving forward. The Fund depends on the generosity and compassion of people from all walks of life to join our quest of “serving those who preserve our freedom.”

When an OEF/OIF Marine or Sailor, or other OEF/OIF service member assigned to Marine forces is injured, their entire family shares the pain and the burden of recovery. Normal life is put on hold as loved ones travel great distances, at a moment’s notice, to be at the bedside, often for weeks or months. Recovery from major catastrophic injuries may take our service members several years to recover. The family members take leave from their jobs, often without pay, and incur additional expenses for child-care, lodging, travel, and other necessities. Few families are prepared for the expenses they face. They need help, and they need it quickly. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund was created to meet this need.
Established in May 2004, the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has provided over 18,300 grants totaling over $37 million in assistance to our Nation\'s OEF/OIF wounded heroes and families. Since our inception, we have consistently maintained our program expenses at 92%, or above, and our fundraising expenses have averaged just 2 cents per dollar raised.

Thank you in advance! for sup porting this noble cause and in turn the many men, women and families who will benefit from your generosity. If you should have any questions or need additional information contact Jim or Amanda at Ink Jam Tattoo Studio 781 316 2393 or 781 308 6223.The web site for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is www.semperfifund.org. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate to this charity please send your donation to Ink Jam Tattoo Studio, 12 Park Ave, Arlington, MA 02174. Please make your donation to: IMSFF.
