Joe¡¦s Story
August 17, 2005 was not a good day for Joe Eastman, although it should
have been. A
leisurely ride on his Harley Davidson turned disastrous, when an elderly
motorist
violated Joe¡¦s right of way, hitting him head-on and changing his life
forever.
Following prolonged hospital and surgical procedures, Joe is now virtually
confined
to his home and a wheelchair. So this husband, father and founder of the
Veterans
Brotherhood Veteran Motorcycle Club in Massachusetts now sits on the
sidelines and
only has a fleeting memory of his days riding and raising money for his
fellow
motorcyclists.
To add insult to injury, Joe also suffers the effects of Agent Orange
poisoning from
his prior duty in Viet Nam. Joe ¡¥Mad Dog¡¦ Eastman and his family
need our
support, now!

non-profit,
all-volunteer organization which exists to support Riders and Families of
Riders who
have been killed or seriously injured as a result of a motorcycle
accident. This
organization, which grew out of its sister group on the North Shore, is
best known
for its signature event, Brian's Ride, which takes place annually in
August.
Join us on Saturday, November 29th for a fundraising event to give
something back to
Joe Eastman. This event is being planned to allow Joe's son, Ethan,
to join and
help celebrate his father during his brief visit home from his tour of
duty with the
U.S. Marine Corps. in Iraq.
Join us as we Help a Home for the Holidays! Veterans are encouraged
to attend. All
are welcome!

Annual Toy Run
Bringing toys to the children at the Jordan Hospital
We'll gather for breakfast at Metro's Cafe on Rte 3A in Manomet (approx.
11:30 am)
then we'll ride to Benny's in N. Plymouth on Rte. 3A to buy the toys.
(approx. 12:30
pm) Then on to the Jordan Hospital pediatric ward with Santa and his elves
to
deliver the toys (approx 1:00 pm). Feel free to join us along the way at
any or all
of our stops.
Each child receives a toy from Santa. The toys are also used to replenish
the worn
out ones in the playroom as well as given to kids all year round when they
are
discharged from the hospital.
Everyone is welcome to join us. You don't have to have a motorcycle. Come
in your
cars if the weather is too cold, rainy or you just don't have a bike. If
you can't
make it but would like to have a toy bought in your name please send a
check for $10
to the Manomet Mystery Riders, PO Box 1453, Manomet, MA 02345. Santa's elf
(me) will
be glad to purchase toys for the kids on your behalf.
