Checking Out Baystate Motorcycle Service...
Boston Biker and New England Biker want to visit as many local motorcycle shops throughout New England, get to know the staff, check out their operation, and share the
experience with you. If you have a favorite shop (or even just someone that works out of their garage or basement) then
drop us a note and we will add them to our
list of places to visit.
This article is about Baystate Motorcycle Service which is located at 55 Pond Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Owner Bob Corvini took time out of his busy day to chat with us and show us around. He started Baystate Motorcycle Service in 1979 and has been at his current location since 1985. His shop comprises 5,000 square feet of space in two buildings. They have six lifts and have a full onsite parts department. Additionally, they have the capacity to store 120 motorcycles in their heated (and alarmed) Winter storage area. They currently have a storage package where they will store your bike with a battery tender to keep the battery fresh, give it a fresh oil change and safety check before you pick it up in the Spring. All of this for a very affordable 285. You can even arrange to get a fresh inspection sticker for your bike. After all, they are a Massachusetts Motorcycle State Inspection Station.
That pretty much covers the facility, now about their operation.... For many years, Baystate only worked on Harley-Davison motorcycles. They did everything from service and repairs all the way up to ground up custom bike builds. They became one of the area's leading experts on everything Harley-Davidson.
Today, they bring this same knowledge and attention to detail to all motorcycle brands. If you are looking to have your motorcycle serviced, Baystate is the place. They can take care of your bike from simple oil changes and tire replacements to exhaust systems and clutch work. There isn't much call for engine rebuilds for the Japanese bikes but they still specialize in total engine builds and performance upgrades for all the V-Twin bikes. Interested in a transmission upgrade? Baystate has you covered. If you are thinking of personalizing or customizing your bike, Baystate has been doing it for years. Give them a call.
Hopefully, you don't ever need to be talking to your insurance company about a claim. However, if you do, then Baystate is a good shop to have on your side. They have been doing all types of insurance work (including collision) for many years and have a solid working relationship with all the major insurance companies. Baystate offers full paint service too. They will perfectly match any factory color as well as any kind of custom paint job that you can imagine.
In case you are wondering, Baystate has earned the highest rating with the Better Business Bureau, they have never had a single complaint. That's impressive!
